Overview
Edge West needed a website that could do more than list events. It needed to be a living hub where the music, the video, and the calendar all sat in one place, updated easily and presented in a way that matched the energy of the brand.
NXRD designed and built the Edge West website from the ground up, using bespoke HTML to bring YouTube, SoundCloud, and live event integration together in a single, seamless experience. The result is a platform that feels custom to Edge West rather than assembled from off the shelf parts.
Events and music brands are difficult to serve with a standard template. The content is rich and constantly changing. There are mixes to stream, videos to watch, and events to promote, and all of it needs to feel connected rather than scattered across different tools and embeds.
Edge West wanted a site that could carry all of this without feeling cluttered or slow. The brief was to build something bespoke: a platform where audio, video, and event listings worked as one, where new content could be added with ease, and where the whole experience reflected the identity of the brand.
A website built from scratch
NXRD built the Edge West website end to end, designing the structure, the pages, and the experience around the way the brand actually works. Rather than forcing the content into a rigid template, we built the site to fit the content.
Signature pages
The site includes purpose built sections that give Edge West its personality, including an EdgeLab page and a Throwbacks page, alongside the core event listings. Navigation was structured so visitors can move between the music, the video, and the calendar without friction.
Bespoke HTML integration
The core of the project was custom code. NXRD wrote bespoke HTML to weave three different content types into a single, coherent experience:
- YouTube integration, so video content plays natively within the site and stays front and centre
- SoundCloud integration, so mixes and audio can be streamed directly on the page without sending users elsewhere
- Event integration, so listings are presented clearly and kept current, giving the audience a live view of what is coming up
Bringing these together through custom code, rather than relying on basic embeds, gave Edge West a faster, cleaner, and more branded result than a standard build could offer.
An easy to manage platform
Because the site was built around the content, keeping it current is straightforward. New events, mixes, and videos slot into the existing structure, so Edge West can keep the platform fresh without a rebuild every time something new drops.
This was a build that rewarded custom thinking. Off the shelf tools would have left Edge West with a compromised experience, so NXRD went bespoke instead, writing the HTML needed to make the integrations behave exactly as required.
The focus throughout was on the audience experience. Every decision, from how a mix loads to how the events are laid out, was made to keep people on the site, engaged with the content, and connected to the brand.
